Company Overview
Core Services of Northeast Tennessee was established to assist, include, and accept individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to live independent lives integrated in the community.
Persons served are supported daily by highly trained direct support professionals. We also provide registered nursing oversight. Our staff is committed to providing a drug free, safe and open environment, where all members of the Core Services community can have the opportunity to become involved.
As a private non-profit service organization, Core Services of Northeast Tennessee is committed to providing the support necessary to develop an inclusive and accepting community for persons served. We promote their individuality through education, information sharing, and community advocacy.
Company History
Core Services of Northeast Tennessee was founded in the mid 1960"s as a private, non-profit. The agency's original name was the ARC of Washington County. Services provided were initially those of support to parents and families of individuals with intellectual disabilities. In the 1980's group homes were established.. In 1997 due to a ruling about Federal funding through the Department of Mental Retardation residential services were removed from the ARC of Washington County and placed under the old corporate name of Washington County Residential Services. In 2007 the agency adopted the name of Core Services of Northeast Tennessee.
